update on terry pegula and the buffalo sabres

the timeline according to a recent blog by ken campbell of the hockey news:

  • terry pegula has signed a letter of intent to buy the buffalo sabres...it is not finalized, but it also means no one else can buy the sabres...the sale price of $150m may or may not be the final price
  • the sale is expected to be completed in late december, 2010 or early january, 2011...
  • commisioner gary bettman is expected to introduce pegula to the board of governors at their meeting in palm beach, florida next week, dec. 6 and 7

wow...must have been in the works for a while, and the people involved really tight-lipped, because this is moving really fast...

and that's a good thing--tom golisano found his man, terry pegula found his team, the franchise may found some security and sabres fans may have found a reason to get really excited once again
