Nikita Zadorov and the London Knights have a tough time vs. Connor McDavid and the Erie Otters

Sabres d-prospect Nikita Zadorov
and his London teammates
had a rough night in Erie
There's no question that the Erie Otters are loaded.

In addition to Connor McDavid the Otters boast the OHL's two top scorers in Connor Brown and Dane Fox plus former first round picks Brendan Gaunce and Andre Burakovsky.

Loaded for bear. And the bear last night was the London Knights.

Defenseman Nikita Zadorov, the Sabres second of two first rounders in the 2013 draft had his hands full last night trying to keep up with the Otters.

Zadorov is a wonderful skater for a player who stands 6'5" and weighs 230 lbs. In watching him last night, you could see how fluid he is for such a big man:

Unfortunately, he like every other London player had a pretty rough night to keep up with Erie. You can see how he's suckin' wind half-way through one of his long shifts, something he did often throughout the game:

And, then he gets caught up in a keystone cops moment:

Such are the trials and tribulations of a young man finding his way.

Regardless of this game, a game in which very poor goaltending by the Knights' backup set the tone, Sabres fans should look at this kid as a future anchor for the Blue and Gold.

It was fun seeing him up-close vs. a clear Memorial Cup favorite.
