--Jack Eichel missed the Philly game on 12-19, the Sabres got crushed 6-1 and his 17-game point-streak the second longest in Sabres history behing Gilbert Perreault's 18, came to an end because of NHL rules

--Eichel would extend his now personal-best streak to 18 games against Los Angeles before his streak was stopped in a 3-1 loss at Ottawa.

--Sabres sign Rochester Americans forward Dalton Smith to an NHL contract (No. 45 of 50 pro contrats for Buffalo) and start him against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the closing game of 2019. Smith is known for his toughness and willingness to step up for his team mates. Tampa was responsible for dirty hits to Vladimir Sobotka and Rasmus Dahlin in seperate games. Smith played 1:14 and the only fight of the game came when Sabres d-man Jake McCabe didn't take kindly to a hit on Eichel from Lightning defensman Mikhail Sergachev. The Sabres jumped on Tampa and had a 4-1 lead before folding and losing the game 6-4.
